Apple Honey Turkey Sausage Stuffing

Ingredients

1 package (375 g) Granny’s Apple Honey Turkey Sausage, diced
2 tbsp | 30 ml butter
1 cup | 250 ml white onion, diced small
½ cup | 125 ml celery, diced small
8 cups | 2 liters rye bread, cubed
3 cups | 750 ml homemade or low-sodium turkey or chicken stock
½ cup | 125 ml slivered almonds, toasted
1 egg, beaten
2 tsp | 10 ml apple cider vinegar
1 tsp | 5 ml fresh thyme
1 tsp | 5 ml sea salt
¼ tsp | 1.25 ml freshly ground black pepper

Directions

Grease a large casserole dish with butter & preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Sauté sausage, onion and celery in a pan with remaining butter until lightly brown.
Mix all remaining ingredients in a large bowl except drippings.
Place mixture into casserole dish and bake for 1.5 hours. If a moist stuffing is preferred cover loosely with foil for the first hour.
