One-Pot Apple Honey Turkey Sausage Rice Pilaf

Ingredients

1 package (375 g) Granny’s Apple Honey Turkey Sausage, sliced into bite size pieces
1 tbsp | 15 ml vegetable oil
1 cup | 250 ml leeks (white part only), diced
1 cup | 250 ml carrot, diced
1/2 cup | 125 ml celery, diced
1 cup | 250 ml jasmine rice, uncooked
1 1/2 cups | 375 ml water
1/2 tsp | 2.5 ml cider vinegar
1/4 tsp | 1.25 ml freshly ground black pepper
1/2 tsp | 2.5 ml sea salt

Directions

In a large skillet with a lid, sauté sausage, leeks, carrots and celery over medium heat in oil until lightly browned.
Reduce heat to low and add rice, water and vinegar. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
Stir once and then simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
Remove from heat, stir, then cover and let sit for 5 more minutes before serving.
