Turkey Chili Nachos

1 lb | 450 g ground turkey
1 tbsp | 15 ml oil
1 medium onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tsp | 5 ml dried oregano
1/2 tsp | 2.5 ml chilli powder
1/2 tsp | 2.5 ml cumin
To taste salt and pepper
1 cup | 250 ml black beans, cooked
1 (7.5 oz | 220 ml) can tomato sauce
1 (11 3/8 oz | 323 g) pkg white corn tortilla chips
1-2 red sweet pepper, diced
1-2 green sweet pepper, diced
1-2 jalapeño peppers
1/2 cup | 125 ml black olives, optional
2 cups | 500 ml Monterey Jack cheese, shredded


In large skillet over medium-high heat, heat oil. Stir in turkey, breaking up with spoon and cook until no longer pink.
Stir in onion, garlic, oregano, chilli powder and cumin, cooking until onion is soft.
Stir in black beans and tomato sauce and simmer until heated through. Season with salt and pepper.
Place corn tortillas onto large baking sheet and spoon turkey chilli on top. Sprinkle peppers and olives on nachos. if desired, followed by cheese.
Bake at 425°F (220°C) about 5 minutes or until cheese melts. Serve with guacamole and sour cream.
