Cast Iron Barbecued Turkey Wings

Ingredients

2 Packages Granny’s Turkey Wings
2 tbsp | 30 ml olive oil
1/2 cup | 125 ml red onion, sliced
1 tbsp | 15 ml garlic, chopped
1 tsp | 5 ml smoked paprika
1/2 tsp | 2.5 ml ancho chili powder
1/2 tsp | 2.5 ml ground chipotle pepper
1 tsp | 5 ml ground cumin
1 tsp | 5 ml sea salt
2 tbsp | 30 ml fresh lime juice

Directions

Preheat barbecue to medium-high heat (375°F | 190°C).
In a deep roasting pan cover wings with water until the wings are 3/4 covered.
Loosely cover pan with foil and cook over indirect heat for 1 hour.
Remove wings from barbecue and pour off excess juice from wings and discard.
Mix wings with all other ingredients in a large cast iron pan.
Cook over indirect heat for approximately 45-60 minutes, stirring and turning wings occasionally. The wings are fully cooked when a thermometer probe reads 170°F (77°C).
