Middle Eastern Ground Turkey Pitas

Prep Time: 10 minutes Cooking Time: 20 minutes 4 servings

Ingredients

1 lb | 450 g Granny's Lean Ground Turkey Breast
1 tsp | 5 ml garlic
1 tsp | 5 ml lemon zest
1 tbsp | 15 ml pine nuts, toasted
1 tbsp | 15 ml flat leaf parsley, coarsely chopped
to taste sea salt & ground pepper
3 tbsp | 45 ml olive oil

Yogurt Sauce

1/2 cup | 125 ml Greek yogurt
1/2 tsp | 2.5 ml cumin
1/2 tsp | 2.5 ml lemon zest
1/2 tsp | 2.5 ml flat leaf parsley, coarsely chopped
to taste sea salt & ground pepper

Directions

Preheat oven to 350ºF (180ºC).
Mix sauce ingredients and refrigerate.
Combine turkey, garlic, lemon zest, pine nuts, parsley, salt and pepper.
Form into small 1-inch thick patties and pan fry until lightly brown.
Transfer to a baking sheet and cook for 10 minutes, or until fully cooked.
Serve in a warm pita with a dollop of yogurt sauce and your favorite vegetables like lettuce, tomato, green onion and cucumber.
